Michael Dolan, Principal

Michael has over twenty five years of diverse experience in multi-disciplinary projects, often integrating architecture and industrial design. He has designed environments, exhibitions, furniture, products, and sporting goods, and has been published internationally in design journals such as Axis, Communication Arts, Innovation, I.D., and Wired. He has won many design awards including IDEA Awards from the Industrial Designers Society of America/Business Week, the Society of Environmental Graphic Design, and Communication Arts Annuals. Prior to forming Polychrome, Michael was a senior designer at Pentagram Design in San Francisco, and a Partner at Eight Inc., were he directed major retail programs, exhibitions, industrial design, and research projects. He began his career working for Henry Dreyfuss Associates in New York City, after graduating with distinction from the Art Center College of Design in 1982.

Monina Johnson, Creative Director, Environments

Monina combines her industrial design background and exhibition design experience to bring a unique perspective to her work. Prior to joining Polychrome, she was key member of the environments studio at IDEO in San Francisco, a consultancy renowned for its innovative design, processes and services. She is comfortable working in a cross-disciplinary environment and has a broad range of skills, ranging from the design of spaces and products to research and strategic planning. Monina’s areas of experience include retail environments, corporate centers, and work environments. Prior to joining IDEO, she was a designer at West Office Exhibition Design, a studio specializing in interactive museums, science centers, cultural and corporate centers. Monina is a graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Micah Panama, Designer

Micah brings his experience in graphic design and brand strategy to the team at Polychrome. He started his career at innovation consulting firm SYPartners, working alongside clients such as IBM and Starbucks. Before joining Polychrome he worked on a range of projects that included branding, package design and environmental graphics. He thrives working at the intersection of design and communication and specifically enjoys collaborating with industrial designers to combine his experience in communication with products and environments. Micah graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design.
